When: Wednesday, April 28, 2010 Time: 5pm-10pm Where: Participating Baskin-Robbins® nationwide

Help your neighborhood raise money for YOUR local fire service organization during Baskin-Robbins 31 Cent Scoop Night. For the 4th annual event, Baskin-Robbins is partnering with National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation will donate $100,000 to the non-profit organization. Locally, Baskin-Robbins is providing an opportunity for firefighters and store owners to come together for an event of fun, smiles and fundraising for local fire service organizations.
On Wednesday, April 28th, 2010, Baskin-Robbins stores across the country will hold 31 Cent Scoop Night from 5-10 pm to honor America's firefighters. Baskin-Robbins will reduce prices of small ice cream scoops to 31 cents* and create an opportunity for customers to donate to local fire charities. Interact With Community
The interface with firefighters elevates the event to more than a brand promotion—it becomes a community event benefiting public service employees and volunteers that protect our communities. It also provides the neighbors with an opportunity to interact with the firefighters and to experience some of their programs and firefighting equipment." -Shaw Darwish, Katy, TX

Music and Fun
Tom Bazel's Glastonbury, CT combo store had a carnival-like atmosphere. Customers stood in line singing, clapping, and sampling ice cream cakes and free soda. The fire department sent invitations to 500 families and Bazel advertised in his local paper. “I have never seen a line like the one we had,” said manager Lucy Christoforidis, who reports that the shop sold 1,035 scoops.

Balloons and Firefighters
"We had a lot of people thanking us for days after the event," said Franchisee Joni Glassman of Richboro, PA. Her shop was decorated with flowers and balloons. Additionally, six firefighters volunteered their time to collect donations and pass out plastic fire hats.

Dance Party
Hitesh Patel's Boca Raton, FL shop created a lot of buzz with four fire trucks out front. But that wasn't all! Music and disco balls set the stage for fun inside, with customers dancing in line and a group of Fire Explorers (teen fire volunteers) displaying trophies and collecting donations. Patel served pizza and ice cream cake for the last half-hour. His May sales were up 39% over the prior year.

Crew Involvement
"The night was a big success because of my crew. They made it happen together. All twelve of my crew members showed up and were behind the lines. One crew member also helped face paint. They enjoyed what they were doing which made all the difference." - Komal Gupta, franchisee Sacramento, CA
